Long Lazy Weekend

Katy’s visiting, and her new computer (Princess) has this really cool photobooth feature. Naturally, we had to try it out.

I have been thinking a lot about this blog and how I really haven’t been posting much lately. I think a format change is in order. I’m gonna re-launch it with a slightly new format in the new year…more to come on that later.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to an amazing new year…I know I am. In fact, just this weekend, I have ripped off a chunk of my finger while disengaging The Club from a steering wheel (long story), sung Lady Marmalade on karaoke, and fallen on my face with a drink in my hand after tripping over some RCA cables.

Who knows what else will happen this weekend?

Because I can’t remember exactly why/how this happened.

MIA

Good lord, have I abandoned the blog? Happily, no. I am just so freakin’ busy that the blog keeps taking the backseat to my Christmas shopping (or lack thereof), and my job. Our student showcase is this weekend, and it’s just basically me and one other person running the show…creative chaos, just the way I like it. I will be so happy when Saturday is over…then I can catch up on all my actual work instead of figuring out how to patch through wireless mics and making snowglobes. Lucky me.

I can’t wait until Christmas! Actually, I can, because I like the anticipation more than the actual day. The decorations, the food, the music, the movies…I love it all. Getting gifts is not quite as fun as an adult, but giving them feels better the older you get. Except checks. I still love me some checks.

Ryan got us tickets to the Nutcracker this weekend. It was amazing! I thought it may be long and even a tad boring (sometimes dance performances make me ferret-y) but it was beautiful and made me happy to see all the beautiful costumes and great music. Now I just need to get tickets to Christmas Carol….and go ice skating.

The snow of last week has melted, and it was 50 degrees today…thanks again, Republicans. By the time I have kids, we will be able to get a tan on Christmas. So wrong.

Sadly, I have to go back to work almost immediately after Christmas…anyone up for New Year’s in KC?

I sort of liked our pumpkins more after they decomposed a little.
