Mid-Summer, (almost) Mid-Lovewell
Last night we celebrated Mid-Summer with our Swedish friends. It was awesome. We ate meatballs and thin pancakes with jelly. Then we danced and sang songs around this small replica of the Mid-Summer pole-type thing. The songs were great, my favorite one was about frogs and how they have no ears or tails. Then we hop and make frog noises. I wish we had more holidays like this in the US, it is such a nice feeling to dance and singand laugh with friends. Traditions are amazing, even when they are not your own.
I also bought these booze popsicles called “Freaky Ice.” They were pretty good, and looked & tasted sort of like fla-vor-ice. There was a huge warning on the package that said DO NOT FEED TO CHILDREN, but they seem like a logical snack, if you want your kids to sleep for a while (ha).
Lovewell is going great, we have our basic plot down, and confirmed most of our characters Friday. It’s about an in-between place for souls after you pass away (loosely based on an airport), where you have to go through your “baggage” before moving on. There’s more to it, but that’s the basic gist. Check out the Lovewell forum if you are wondering what the kids are saying, etc…www.lovewell.org
We got tix to see James Taylor at the Missouri State Fair right after we move…how strange that in six weeks we’ll be residents of the Midwest again.
Can’t wait.
